Into the Bend is a 1,200 sq. ft. commercial office in Chembur, Mumbai, designed as a contemporary workplace that balances efficiency with a sense of warmth and creativity. The planning is organised around an open workstation at the centre, with private cabins along the periphery, a collaborative meeting room, and a welcoming reception and lounge. Rather than adopting a conventional corporate language, the interiors use an Organic Modern vocabulary, bringing together clean lines, warm wood and fluid forms to create a workplace that feels both professional and approachable.
Movement and flow became the central design idea, most visibly expressed through the sculptural green feature wall with its undulating profile and circular niches. Layered gypsum construction, oak-finished workstations, black metal framing and rich red marble add a considered mix of textures and materials, while changes in flooring subtly define the different zones. The result is a workplace where structure and softness coexist, with the feature wall doubling as a display for the client’s achievements and giving the office a distinct identity.
